I missed the ICFF which took place in Jacob Javits Center in New York City May 16-19. ICFF is the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. It’s a place you get to go experience peoples creative genius in the design industry. Attending would have been pretty awesome, unfortunately, there’s lots to be done here in Lagos. Not only do I have work, my sister is getting married next month and that is another project on it’s own. She wants me involved in the planning of the big event (as expected).

The feature image is a chair by our own Yinka Ilori. You know how we do when we see our peoples names anywhere. I’ve seen his stuff in passing before but this time I think it’s going to stick. I looked through his work, he’s like our African, modern day Hans Wegner, style-wise. I love his stuff.

So, I have a thing for fairs and trade shows. I intend to be in Baltimore for Neocon East and New York for the BDNY (Boutique Design New York) and IHMRS (International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show) if my darling clients will let me go for just a lil bit. At these trade shows you get introduced to amazing new innovations in the commercial and hospitality design world. As an interior designer, it’s extremely important to be up to date with them for me to know what is available to me with regards to design solutions for my clients.

I didn’t get to go to ICFF but I did get to enjoy lots of amazing pictures from the events that attenders had taken via Instagram, Facebook and other media. #icff Here are some of the pictures of pieces that caught my attention.

I love that first light. It’s so beautiful. I cant tell how big it is though because of the way it was photographed.
